Shhhoosh Secrets
Shooshing Crème is our best kept secret. Our light-weight, volumising, texture bringing, oomph oozing styling product. I know many of you are well and truly in love with ‘Shoosh’ (as am I) but I thought I would give you a little step by step guide with a couple of hints and tips along the way.
We are always receiving questions about the best way to use it, how much is too much, can it be used on longer hair, coloured hair or thinner hair (the answer is yes to all of those by the way). You might have seen my demos on our Facebook page and hopefully they gave you a glimpse into the magical powers of Shooshing Crème and helped you a little with how to best use it. If not, head over here and have a watch.
So, how to ‘Shoosh’?
1. Use a tiny amount….and I mean tiny
You would be surprised how little you actually need for maximum impact. We always suggest starting off with less than you think you need as you can always add more. We used to say a pea-sized amount, but you can go even smaller than that. Maybe even a lentil.
2. Rub a dub dub
Start with the fingertips, then rub the product fully into your hands, so the product is hardly visible before working into the roots.
3. Work it
Try not to coat your hair, but really work or scrunch into the roots. You might even want to pull out pieces of your hair you want to ‘position’ into place a little more.
Now those steps are a great place to start, but I think it’s also important to note that if you want your hair to feel super squeaky clean all the time, ‘Shoosh’ isn’t for you. It’s all about the texture, definition, messiness, volume and lift. Of course, you can actually smooth down your hair with it if you’re looking for a more slicked back crop, but it’s not for those of you who want the ‘fresh out of the shower’ feel 24/7.
Any other tips? Well yes actually, it can be used alongside our dreamy Lifeshine Oil, on wet or dry hair for shiny, voluminous silver….all in one. Both are only needed sparingly, so your products should last for ages.
One other thing, it can be used on wet or dry hair. When my hair was a little shorter, I went for dry application. Now, with my slightly longer lockdown ‘do, I’m mixing it up and sometimes adding a little to wet hair before I blow dry. The beauty of Shooshing Crème is that you can experiment with your own hair, what works for you, your cut, hair texture and length, to find the perfect amount and ‘shooshing’ method.
I really do hope this helps. If you have any questions, do reach out on Facebook or Instagram or at customercare@whitehothair.co.uk . Keep sending your selfies and stories, we love to hear from you.
Take care,
